The nation's military forces may be called to serve anywhere in the world during times of conflict or in peacetime. Among the treats our forces face are injury from combat operations, exposure to chemical or biological warfare agents, enviromental extremes, and endemic diseases not common in the United Sates. To provide the warfighters defense against these hazards and sustain their health are the goals of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command. This portfolio provides a comprehensive listing of the products the USAMRMC provides or plans to deliver to protect and treat Warfighters who serve the nation.

Communications Earplug (PDF - 614KB) 
The Communications Earplug (CEP) was developed by the USAARL Acoustics Branch to provide U.S. Army aviators with state-of-the-art communications and hearing protection. The CEP, a lightweight communications device that consists of a miniature transducer and foam earplug, can be used alone or in combination with other circumaural hearing

Tactile Situation Awareness System (PDF - 940KB) 
The Tactile Situation Awareness System (TSAS) uses the sense of touch to provide situation awareness information to pilots. TSAS presents information, including body position, attitude, altitude, velocity, navigation, acceleration, threat location, and target location through the use of tactile stimulators distributed on the torso. FOCUS Headform (PDF - 92KB) 
The Facial and Ocular CountermeasUre for Safety Headform (FOCUS) is a unique research headform used by scientists to test and evaluate protective devices without using human or animal subjects.
FOCUS incorporates the properties of real human tissue consistent in thickness and force-defl ection response to a real human face. The headform is segmented into fi ve facial bones and may be equipped with different eyes for measuring penetrating or blunt impacts. Additional reading within brochure.
Noise-Immune Stethoscope (PDF - 642KB) 
The dual-mode hybrid Noise-Immune Stethoscope (NIS) is an auscultation device that detects heart sounds without interference from environmental noise. Additional reading within brochure.
Helmet-Mounted Displays (PDF - 100KB)
Helmet-mounted displays (HMDs) continue to find expanded applications in the military community. They are central to a number of advanced systems for the mounted and dismounted warfi ghter used in training and combat.
