Acoustics Research Facility

This facility includes anechoic/reverberation chambers, an audiometric research facility, and a real-ear attenuation measurement room, in compliance with the ANSI standards, and a mobile field laboratory. This facility is used for research, development, test, and evaluation to establish noise attenuation criteria and evaluate hearing protective devices for Soldiers and aviators.

Visual Sciences Research Facility
This is a definitive facility for basic and applied research on the visual/optical physiology of the eye. Corneal shape and structure combine to form the basis for optimal visual acuity. A laser ophthalmoscope, corneal topography, and an optical distortion measurement system support activities within this advanced facility. Applied research in head and helmet-mounted visual electro-optical display systems are supported by a visual displays laboratory, visual psychophysics facilities, a research optical fabrication laboratory, and a mobile field laboratory.
